£650
Origin: Afshar, Southern Iran
Age: Approx. 100 years old (circa 1920)
Size: 180 x 135 cm
A finely balanced antique Persian Afshar rug, hand-knotted in southern Iran circa 1920. The field is composed of evenly spaced stylised motifs arranged with a quiet symmetry, creating a harmonious and open visual structure. A series of three narrow borders frames the design, with one subtly contrasting band and two further muted borders that reinforce the rug’s understated character.
The colour palette is soft and restrained, contributing to a spacious and calm overall feel. Wear is consistent with age and evenly distributed, with the rug remaining structurally sound and fully usable. An appealing example of tribal weaving well well-suited to relaxed, contemporary interiors.
