Antique Persian Malayer Rug 190 × 141 cm, circa 1920

Origin: Persia
Age: circa 1920
Size: 190 × 141 cm
Material: Wool

A characterful antique Persian Malayer rug, hand-knotted in wool and dating from circa 1920. Over a century of natural wear has given this piece a wonderfully soft, time-aged appearance and distinctive decorative character.

The design features a finely patterned central field framed by angular corner sections and multiple decorative borders. Its beautifully faded palette combines soft ivory, warm beige, muted red, taupe and subtle brown tones, with the original pattern remaining visible beneath the naturally worn surface.

The low, distressed pile and muted colours give this rug an understated quality that works particularly well in both traditional and contemporary interiors. Its smaller proportions make it ideal beside a bed, in a hallway, study, dressing room or as an accent rug within a larger space.

A one-of-a-kind antique Persian Malayer rug with genuine age, beautiful natural wear and a wonderfully decorative patina.
