A beautiful vintage Swedish Kilim rug, handwoven in wool and dating from the mid-20th century.

The rug features an elegant Scandinavian composition with a soft pale grey and ivory central field surrounded by a distinctive geometric floral border. Repeating medallion-like motifs in muted sage green and deeper forest green are delicately accented with soft pink and warm ochre, creating a harmonious and understated colour palette.

The spacious central field is decorated with small geometric motifs, while the stronger patterned border gives the design structure and definition. Its restrained geometry, balanced proportions and soft natural colours are characteristic of Scandinavian textile design from this period.

Handwoven using the traditional flatweave technique, the rug has a natural wool texture and lightweight construction. At 206 × 142 cm, it is a versatile size suitable for a bedroom, sitting room, study or smaller living space.
