A beautiful vintage Swedish Kilim rug, handwoven in wool and dating from the mid-20th century.

The rug features an elegant Scandinavian composition centred around a spacious pale grey field, framed by a decorative geometric floral border. Stylised cross and floral motifs are arranged rhythmically around the perimeter in soft sage and olive greens, ivory, muted pink and subtle warm beige tones.

The open central field gives the rug a calm and understated character, while the more detailed border creates definition and visual interest. The combination of geometric forms, restrained ornamentation and carefully balanced colours is characteristic of Scandinavian textile design from this period.
